This CDV photograph of Col. Augustus Louis Chetlain (1824-1914), of the 12th Regiment, Illinois Infantry, was found in the Conant Family CDV photograph album belonging to Abbie Maria (Conant) Daugherty (1845-1916). There was no information on the photo as to whom the photographer was. Notations in the album said that Col. Chetlain was an admirer of Abbie's, but the family was opposed. He shared space in this album with other members of the 12th Regiment, Illinois Infantry.
