Albert N. Fellows Company I, 39th Illinois Volunteer Infantry

This is an outdoor Carte de Visit photo by Brady of 2nd Lt. Albert N. Fellows of Co. I, 39th Illinois Infantry. He hailed from a town called Santa Anna and mustered in on Oct. 11, 1861. On the back of the card, in Civil War period ink, is: "Killed June 2, 1864 on right line in front of Bermuda 100s Va." Fellows is mentioned in the Adj. Gen'ls Reports as being killed as soon as the battle commenced.   Photo and information submitted by John Ertzgaard who passed away in 2002.
