Patrick Henry McBride, Jr. was born 1849 Kinkaid Township, Jackson County, Illinois. He enlisted in Company K of the 9th Illinois Cavalry on 15 February 1865. He mustered out on 31 October 1865 at Selma Albama.

He married Martha Worthen in 1868. Patrick died 1871 at Rockwood, Illinois and is buried at Bartlett Cemetery, Ava, Illinois.

He lied about his age to enlist. His cause of death was listed as consumption most likely contracted during the war.

Patrick and martha had one child, a son - U. Burton McBride, my great-grandfather.
