John W. Purnell Company B, 31st Illinois Infantry

John W. Purnell served in the 31st Regiment Company B Illinois Infantry. He was born June 6, 1839 and died January 9, 1922. He is buried in Saline County at the Little Saline Cemetery, Section 32. He married Lucinda Jane Farthing on October 23, 1864 and they had 9 children. John's parents were Oscar and Nellie (Mortz) Purnell. Submitted by Tammy Halterman
