Pvt. Jonas Seeley from Bristol joined Co. C of the 4th Illinois Cavalry on Sept. 26, 1861. The Regiment was sent from Vicksburg to Natchez during the winter of 1863-64 which generally dates the photo by the backmark location. He mustered out on Nov. 3, 1864 as a 1st Sgt.
