William C. Stewart

Company A, 35th Illinois Volunteer Infantry

William C. Stewart joined the 35th Illinois volunteers the same date as his son Andrew Jackson Stewart. He was 55 years old when he joined. He was later discharged on disability. William Cashius Stewart was born in 1806 in Culpeper, Virginia. His occupation on his discharge papers listed him as a carpenter.

He died in Franklin County Kansas on March 2, 1870. His personal property was listed as: one horse and buggy and about $90.00 due from the U.S. as pension money.
