George Stone was in Company B of the 19th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. He served from June 17, 1861 until he mustered out July 9, 1864. He was born in Westboro, Massacusetts and came to Toulon, Illinois in 1860. He married Hannah Melissa Huckins January 1, 1868 in Toulon. They lived in Toulon for two years and resided in Neponset, Illinois the remainder of their lives.
